The Gallery houses two very distinct recording rooms and a custom designed control room. The Space was designed and built from Fall’06-Spring’07. The Isolation room is a floated, acoustically designed soundproof room modeled after industry leading acoustical design . The room is not “dead” sounding, rather it is extremely detailed. The Live Room offers a totally different sound. With 14ft. ceilings, and no shortage of space, the uses range from massive drum sounds to lots of ambience when recording guitars, brass, strings and even vocals. Furthermore, we have a movable Gobo sytem (see pics) that allows for the rooms to be acoustically tailored to compliment any recording situation. For the Control Room we consulted with acoustics guru Ethan Weiner. The room design is based on the classic “coffin” model which negates any parallel walls, and we heavily treated the room by installing a floating wall behind the monitors and an Ethan Weiner RealTrap sytem for the back of the room. The end result is a very honest listening space where mixes will translate well in any environment.
